The villa is an architectural typology, historically considered an wide residence connected to agricultural activities.
Going back to the late republican era, the idea and function of villa have had a remarkable development since the moment in which it has been planned. In the XIX century the word "villa" was adopted to describe in a wider sense any suburban house that was isolated in the open country, in opposition to the number of houses very near each other. When people built semi-isolated villas, in the XX century the term lost its original meaning and was overdone.
After the first world war the suburban 'villa' became bungalow.
However important works, projected and carried out by architects as Frank Lloyd Wright, Richard Neutra, Her Corbusier, classable in such typology, are linked to the modern architecture.
For Vacations we rent different kind of villas, but they are called so only because make holiday something particular, full of relax and family nice moments, in a lot of these you can have breakfast, have lunch and have dinner in the open with breathtaking view.
